Q.Is it Safe For Children and Pets?

YES. To ensure optimum uptake of the weedkiller we do ask to keep off the lawn for up to one hour. This is to prevent you “walking” the weed killer off the weeds. If you do avail of our service, you will not have to deal with chemicals in your garden shed which would present more of a risk to unsupervised children.

Q.How long will it take for my lawn to look healthy?

In normal circumstances, you’ll see an improvement within a week.

Q.I already have a gardener, why should I use The Lawnman Services Ltd?

A lot of our existing customers already have gardeners, we are not a maintenance company. Our service will enhance the work of your gardener.

Q. Why can’t I put weedkiller down and get the same results?

The products The Lawnman Services Ltd. uses are only available to professionals, they are not available to the public, they achieve far better results than those you can buy.

Q. When is the best time to start the service?

There is never a bad time to start on the Lawnman programme. You can adopt this at anytime.

Q. Are the feeds The Lawnman applies better than the proprietary brands you can get at my garden centre or DIY store?

The best proprietary lawn feeds lasts between 3 – 6 weeks depending on soil type and weather conditions. The Lawnman’s polygreen fertiliser lasts around 8 weeks and some times longer.

Q. Are you able to offer other advice?

A beautiful lawn involves more than just applying a fertiliser and sprays every couple of months. Mowing practices, advice on watering and numerous other factors contribute to a beautiful lawn. We would be delighted to give you as much information on these practices as we possibly can.

Q. Is there a contact to sign?

No, we don not ask you to sign a contract, all we ask is that when you settle one bill you inform us if you wish to cancel the next visit.

Q. Why do you recommend 5 visits a year?

A. Most propriety branded fertiliser products suggest reapplication after five or six weeks, whereas our feed lasts 8 -10 weeks. Therefore when we visit regularly we ensure vital nutrients are being continually released into the lawn throughout the year. It is also important to remember that our treatments vary throughout the year, we do moss control in the spring and autumn and weed control in the two intermediate visits.

Q. When will I see my weeds start to die?

Following our weed treatment, the weeds should start to curl and die after 2 – 3 days, although it may take up to 10 days to react. Unusually warm dry weather, heavy rain within 12 hours of treatment, or mowing immediately after treatment can reduce control. Many widely available weed killers are mild in nature to meet current legislation. The application of the herbicides requires training and certification and will control most common lawn weeks.

Q. Will your service affect when I can cut my lawn?

We ask you not to cut your lawn for 2 days prior to and after any of our weed treatments as this can reduce the efficiency of the products that we use and your weeds may not die back as well as you might expect. Otherwise, you are free to cut your lawn as normal.

Q. DO I have to water the lawn following the treatment?

No you don’t. However, like any other plant, the lawn does like and need water. It will show its gratitude if you water it by turning green. During a dry spell, give the lawn a drink one evening.

Q. Will the treatments address moss?

YES, our treatments are specifically geared to addressing moss problems on lawns.

Q. Should I try the service even though I think my lawn is beyond saving?

Definitely, homeowners are constantly amazed to see what they thought was a lawn beyond saving transformed into a beautiful lawn.


Q. Do I have to be at home when the Lawnman calls?

The majority of our customers are not at home when we call to treat the lawn. Since all our vehicles and operatives are self sufficient we can carry out the treatment as long as we have access to the lawns. If you wish to be home when we are carrying out the treatment, we will do our best to accommodate your request, and arrange a suitable time.
